ChatGPT Plus is a subscription plan for ChatGPT. It provides availability even during high demand, faster response times, and priority access to new features.

Can I still subscribe for free?
Yes, OpenAI still offers free ChatGPT access, which you can access by visiting ChatGPT while logged out or by signing up for OpenAI's free plan. By offering this subscription price, OpenAI will be able to help as many people as possible access it for free. Please refer to OpenAI's general ChatGPT article for more information about OpenAI's free offerings.

How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Click "My Plan" in the sidebar. Then click "Manage My Subscription" in the pop-up window. You will be directed to the Stripe checkout page, where you can select "Cancel Plan." Your cancellation will take effect the day after the next billing date. Until then, you can continue using OpenAI's services. To avoid being charged for the next billing period, cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the next billing date. Subscription fees are non-refundable.

If you subscribed through Apple/Google Play, you need to access these services through your mobile device to cancel the Google/Apple Plus subscription directly. Google Play/Apple subscriptions cannot be canceled through ChatGPT on the web.

What is the refund policy?
If you reside in the EU, UK, or Turkey, you can get a refund if you cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase. Please send a message to OpenAI via the chat widget in the lower right corner of the OpenAI Help Center screen, select the "Billing" option, and then select "I need a refund."

How do I apply for a VAT refund?

My account has been disabled/banned. Can I get a refund?
If OpenAI terminates your account because you violated OpenAI's Terms of Use, you still owe any unpaid fees, and no remaining credits or prepaid service fees will be refunded.

How do I opt out of having my data used to improve model performance?

Where can I find my ChatGPT Plus invoices?
You can view invoices by clicking "My Plan" in the sidebar and then clicking "Manage My Subscription." Currently, OpenAI does not automatically send monthly invoices to your email address.

Are there other payment methods?
OpenAI accepts credit or debit card payments. OpenAI does not support other payment methods. Gift cards accepted in the Apple Store are a top-up method for users in China.

I want to use ChatGPT Plus with sensitive data. Who can view my conversations?

No, the ChatGPT API and the ChatGPT Plus subscription are billed separately. The API has its own pricing, available at https://openai.com/pricing. The ChatGPT Plus subscription only covers use on chatgpt.com and costs $20 per month.

I am using ChatGPT's free subscription. Does that mean I can also use the ChatGPT API for free?
No, API usage requires separate payment. The ChatGPT API is not available for free. For details, please refer to OpenAI's pricing page.

Are there any usage limits on my account?
As of May 13, 2024, Plus users will be able to send 80 messages every 3 hours on GPT-4o and 40 messages every 3 hours on GPT-4. The message cap for users in a ChatGPT Team workspace is approximately twice that of ChatGPT Plus.

Please note that unused messages do not accumulate (i.e., if you wait 6 hours, you will not have 80 messages available on GPT-4 for the next 3 hours).
For Plus users, in some cases, OpenAI may dynamically adjust message limits based on available capacity to prioritize making GPT-4 available to as many people as possible.

Is there an annual plan?
Currently, OpenAI does not support annual billing or paying for a ChatGPT Plus subscription several months in advance. The ChatGPT Plus subscription fee is billed monthly from the subscription start date.
