If you try to log in using a different authentication method from the one you originally used to sign up, you will see this error. Your account can only be verified using the authentication method used when you originally signed up. For example, if you signed up using Google Sign-In, continue using the same method.
If you are unsure which sign-up method you originally used, try logging in using the following methods in an incognito window in a browser other than Firefox:
Username + password
“Continue with Google” button
“Continue with Microsoft” button
If you see “This user already exists” when trying to sign up...
This may mean you started the sign-up process but did not complete it. Try logging in.
If you received a welcome email but did not receive a verification email...
Please sign up at https://platform.openai.com/signup.
If you still receive errors such as “Something went wrong” or “Oops...”, try the following:
Clear your cache and cookies, then try logging in using your chosen authentication method.
Complete the login in an incognito browser window.
Try logging in from a different browser/computer to see whether the problem persists, as certain security plugins or extensions may cause this type of error.
Try using a different network (wired connection, home WiFi, work WiFi, library/café WiFi, or cellular network).
In addition, you may see this error because of domain verification. You can discuss this with your IT administrator to find out whether another OpenAI organization has already verified your domain. |
