If you need a BAA before using OpenAI's API, please email baa@openai.com and provide detailed information about your company and use case.
The OpenAI team will respond within 1–2 business days. OpenAI reviews each BAA request on a case-by-case basis and may need more information. The process is usually completed within a few business days.

Can I get a BAA for ChatGPT?

Currently, OpenAI does not offer a BAA for ChatGPT. However, OpenAI is working to provide this support in the future. As OpenAI begins rolling out this service at scale, OpenAI's focus will be on ChatGPT Enterprise customers with broad deployments. What happens if I am not approved?

OpenAI can approve most customers' BAA requests, but occasionally a use case does not pass the OpenAI team's evaluation. In that case, OpenAI will provide feedback and context explaining why, and give you an opportunity to update how you intend to use OpenAI's API and reapply.

Does the BAA cover all API services?

No, only endpoints that qualify for zero retention are covered by the BAA. You can review the list of these endpoints.

Is an Enterprise Agreement required to sign a BAA?

No, an Enterprise Agreement is not required to sign a BAA.
