How It Works


Prepaid billing allows API users to purchase usage credits in advance. The credits you purchase will be applied to your monthly invoice. This means any API usage will first be deducted from prepaid credits. If your usage exceeds the purchased credits, you will need to pay additional fees.

Prepaid billing can help developers understand their commitments in advance, providing more predictability in budget and spend management.

Setting Up Prepaid Billing

If you are on a monthly billing plan, you can also choose to switch to prepaid billing and purchase API usage credits in advance.

Here is how monthly billing users or new API users can set up prepaid billing:

· Go to Billing Overview in Account Settings
· Click “Start payment plan” (you may see an option similar to “Buy credits”)

Note: If you previously had a billing plan in arrears, you need to cancel the existing payment plan first.

· Select the initial credit amount you want to purchase. The minimum purchase amount is $5, and the maximum purchase amount will be based on your trust level.
· Confirm and purchase your initial credits.
· Use auto-recharge to set the auto-recharge amount; when your balance falls below the set threshold, the system will automatically top up your account.

Please note that any purchased credits will expire after 1 year and are non-refundable.

After purchasing credits, you should be able to start using the API. Please note that there may be a few minutes' delay before the system updates your credit balance.

Purchasing Additional Credits

Once you have consumed all your credits, your API requests will begin returning errors indicating that you have reached your billing limit. If you want to continue using the API, you can return to the billing portal and use the “Add to balance” button to purchase additional credits.

Delayed Billing

Due to the complexity of the billing and processing systems, access may not stop immediately after you have consumed all your credits. This overage usage may appear as a negative credit balance on your billing dashboard and will be deducted from your next credit purchase.
