ERNIE Bot and Baidu Search are two separate teams. I communicated separately with the ERNIE Bot project manager and a colleague from Baidu Search's anti-cheating team, and their feedback was the same: they do not recommend doing this. The ERNIE Bot colleague said that their knowledge base mainly comes from search engines, so it can tell whether content is AI-generated; the anti-cheating colleague regarded this as a form of cheating. We have also run experiments on other websites: articles updated by ERNIE Bot are identified by Baidu Search—first indexed, then de-indexed, and afterward the overall website authority decreases. Google is different: Google's indexing and rankings are stable. This is due to the different rules of the two, and at this stage Google accepts AI-generated articles.
The moderator believes that search user experience has always been constantly changing over time and with user feedback, and may change in the future.
However, out of respect for knowledge and a supportive attitude toward originality, the moderator does not really support this practice either. The moderator also suggested that we should share valuable experience through our own insights and experimental results. Most people do not have good content-processing ability, which leads to too much junk content that obscures truly valuable content. |
