[api设置] OpenAI Terminates API Services: How Should Chinese Users Respond? Three Relatively Stable Methods

On July 9, OpenAI will completely stop providing API services to China and other unsupported countries. The moderator provides 2 methods to help friends continue using the OpenAI API and 1 alternative method.

I. Methods to Continue Using the OpenAI API

1. AZURE
https://azure.microsoft.com/
Microsoft is OpenAI's largest investor. OpenAI's latest models are prioritized for Microsoft's use, and Microsoft also packages these models into services for sale. In this case, it is Microsoft providing the service, so we can continue to use it. The highest model currently supported by Azure is also up to gpt4o.

2. Reseller openrouter
https://openrouter.ai/
openrouter is OpenAI's largest reseller. It also resells a large number of API services on the market. The advantage of using a reseller is that purchasing one API gives you access to all NLP-type APIs. The disadvantage is that a service fee is charged when topping up: for 100 yuan, the fee is about 5 yuan.

II. Alternatives

1. Domestic large models
Among domestic large models, Tongyi Qianwen is currently considered by the moderator to be the most advanced NLP-type large model. At the same time, Tongyi Qianwen and Wenxin Yiyan have also proposed an inclusive plan: they are willing to accept OpenAI API users and are willing to provide equivalent API quotas for free.
Considering various reasons and stability, the moderator believes that whether AI-related technologies will be opened in the future will affect many far-reaching aspects. Foreign AI may change its provision or stop at any time, which is not conducive to our enterprises' use. If you are used to using OpenAI and the service stops once, having no temporary alternative will have a great impact on company business.
